My classes and 1-2-1 sessions vary from powerful Vinyasa flows to therapeutic gentle stretching sessions, to chair Yoga for the less able. I am also happy to incorporate regular fitness training into 1-2-1 sessions.

About Sarah

I have been working in the Fitness Industry for over 30 years. My early years were as an Aerobics Teacher and Gym Instructor, later becoming a Personal Trainer. The classes I taught were all high impact – Step Aerobics, Circuits, Boot Camp – all quite punishing for the body! Consequently, I suffered from many injuries over the years. That is until I discovered Yoga and its wonderful benefits.

I first started practising around 15 years ago. After 12 months I noticed most of my aches and pains were just about gone. My body was more flexible and unbelievably, despite my daily weights’ sessions in the gym, I was actually stronger, particularly in my core. My passion for Yoga grew as the benefits became more obvious to me. I was feeling calmer, less stressed, my breathing during cardio workouts had massively improved and I felt my body was functioning more efficiently than ever!

I started to add Yoga into my classes and PT sessions. I was amazed at how much even the hard-core gym goers loved doing it. So, I decided to retrain with the Yoga Alliance 8 years ago. Now Yoga is what I love to focus on.

I’m based in the outskirts of Harrogate, in beautiful Nidderdale.

For all new Personal Training and those trying Zoom for the first time, I offer a 30-minute assessment. This helps me determine whether we can be of benefit to each other.

My Approach to Teaching is…

That everyone can (and should) do Yoga. It is inclusive and benefits all ages. I love to awaken that mind, body, and breath connection, that is all empowering with a regular Yoga practise.

I hear so often how Yoga has transformed my client’s lives-this is what really inspires me. I like to encourage clients to find what works for them in their practice. We are all different and have differing needs-there is never a “one size fits all” approach to my teachings.

My experience allows me to have clients of all ages and abilities and I have been able to find a particular niche in helping people who have suffered strokes to have more mobility.

My Favourite Yoga Pose is Warrior 2

In this pose, we have dual action of strength and flexibility in both lower and upper body. We find that beautiful balance of strength and serenity that we only experience during our yoga practice. This is something we can carry with us for the rest of our day.
