I have been working in the Fitness Industry for over 30 years. My early years were as an Aerobics Teacher and Gym Instructor, later becoming a Personal Trainer. The classes I taught were all high impact – Step Aerobics, Circuits, Boot Camp – all quite punishing for the body! Consequently, I suffered from many injuries over the years. That is until I discovered Yoga and its wonderful benefits.
I first started practising around 15 years ago. After 12 months I noticed most of my aches and pains were just about gone. My body was more flexible and unbelievably, despite my daily weights’ sessions in the gym, I was actually stronger, particularly in my core. My passion for Yoga grew as the benefits became more obvious to me. I was feeling calmer, less stressed, my breathing during cardio workouts had massively improved and I felt my body was functioning more efficiently than ever!
I started to add Yoga into my classes and PT sessions. I was amazed at how much even the hard-core gym goers loved doing it. So, I decided to retrain with the Yoga Alliance 8 years ago. Now Yoga is what I love to focus on.
